1. Do I need an appointment?
No. You don’t need an appointment. Just bring your prescription from your eye doctor, and our opticians will help you choose the perfect frames and lenses.
2. Do you take insurance?
Yes! Andrews Optical accepts most major vision insurance plans, including VSP, EyeMed, and many others. Call us and we’ll be happy to check your coverage.
3. Can you do rush orders?
Yes. With our in-house optical lab, we can often accommodate rush orders depending on your prescription. We’ll always do our best to get your glasses to you as quickly as possible.
4. Can I use my flex spending (FSA) or health savings (HSA) account?
Absolutely. FSA and HSA funds can be used toward prescription glasses or designer sunglasses.
5. Do you sell non-prescription sunglasses?
Yes. We carry a wide selection of luxury designer sunglasses including Maui Jim, Gucci, Tiffany, Bvlgari, Miu Miu, Persol, Ray-Ban, Prada, Versace, L.A.M.B., and many more.
6. Do you do special orders?
Yes. If we don’t have the exact frames you’re looking for, we can special order from our designer collections so you get the perfect pair.
7. Do you offer discounts?
Yes. We offer seasonal specials as well as discounts for seniors and military. Our team can also create custom eyewear packages to fit your needs and budget.
8. What are your hours?
- Monday–Friday: 10am–5pm (open until 6pm in summer)
- Saturday: 10am–4pm
- Sunday: Closed
9. Where are you located?
Andrews Optical is located in Carlsbad Village at 585 Grand Ave, between State and Roosevelt, just off the I-5 freeway. We serve customers from Carlsbad, Encinitas, La Costa, Oceanside, and across North County San Diego.
10. What financing options do you offer?
We accept all major credit cards and offer CareCredit financing for flexible payment options.

13. Do you adjust or repair glasses?
Yes. Our experienced opticians provide on-site frame adjustments, minor repairs, and nose pad replacements. For more extensive repairs, we’ll recommend the best options to restore your eyewear.
